Our final days.

Well me and ryan. just sitting here. mikes in the shower gettin clean. I've already had a shower and Ryans sittin there being stanky.

This is one of our last days in Suriname.

Suriname has been amazing. Everyone has been so hospitable and generous. The Food is to die for! And the scenery is amazing. Everyone here has been trying to get us girlfriends so we wont leave (which we're taking as a compliment) but so far they (and we he-he) have had no luck.

Shout out to Luke our home boy yo!!

Also Andrew Koenig... your a sweet heart. ( love your bro)

Lets update you on the sitch.

We went zip lining!! (Dont worry wanda i didnt use team money lol)

We had a blast and we all made it back safe. actually funny story. on the way there our tire blew! LAME!!
but thanks to GOD it blew right next to a school bus which we hired to get us there. This was a blessing because we had 15 min to get there or else we would be kicked off the list. PHEW!thanks God!! Ryan later fixed the tire with his mad farmer skills. Thanks ryan!

Next we went to visit a native village called Pawaka. The people were very interesting and hospitable to us. They taught us how to make Cassava bread. That was sweet! It was a nutritious and delisous treat! It has a long proccess but only one ingreadeant. Casava bread is made from Bitter Casava root which is actually poisonous. ... BUT dont worry Ryan's mom, they extract the poisen by squeezing the root to let all the dangerous ucky poisonous juices out! YAY!

Today we helped out at a small youth conference. We sang worship songs and shared our testimonies. Everything else was in dutch so we read our bibles while Ryan talked to the ladies. ("oohhh dear" ryan says)

After that we went to a church service. It was very livly and fun. There was dancing singing and non-alcoholic beverages. YAY!

Anywho, Now that we're done being all emotional (huh?) we're gonna Go to bed becuse we're helping out at two church services tomorrow then we swim and party at the Van Ommeron household (our host) woot!

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers, and to our loving, beautiful wonderful mothers: WE'LL BE HOME SOON! well actually, ill be home in 3 months but ryan will: BE HOME SOON MOM!

kthxbye God bless.

Ryan and Josiah ( and mike in spirit) signing out. PEACE!

  1. Well Josiah, you seem to be a bit all-over-the-place as you write this, which can only mean you are having a delightful time. The blog is quite fun to read, good work, you have succeeded on this trip. We are relieved you are not going to die of poison, and that there are potential wives for you there in Suriname. Its never too late for you, Whomever is the oldest!! Glad you are having such a great time, cant wait to hear funny stories.
